FM-6 STEREO GENERATOR

    The Tepco Stereo Generator model FM-6 is designed for use in Tepco translators although it can be used in a stand alone mode with a proper power supply (28VDC) and enclosure. In a translator it normally replaces the RF down converter and feeds a composite stereo signal into a Tepco FM modulator (pre-emphasis removed).
    An optional audio processing board (AP-1) which performs low-pass filtering and adjustable audio compression (AGC) can be installed in the stereo generator. This is recommended if no external filtering is used so that no energy appears in the vicinity of the 19 kHz pilot. This could cause problems in stereo locking of the FM receivers if the filtering were not used. Many satellite receiver audio outputs have significant energy above 15 kHz which needs to be removed for any stereo generator.
    Standard 75 usec pre-emphasis (removable) is included in the stereo generator or audio processor.

Input:    0 dBm balanced or unbalanced 600 Ohms or 10k Ohms, factory or field configurable.
Output: 0dBm unbalanced (adjustable)
